Q?

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to have my own IT staff?

A.

Generally speaking, the answer is no. Cetra determines a price for your company based on the number of computers and servers you have. The price is almost always lower than an in-house employee. However, it can depend on how much you value that position. You may be able to hire a person right out of high school or college even who seems to know a lot about computers and be able to hire them for less than what Cetra is quoting. The difficulty is the engineers Cetra has on staff are very experience and highly trained; a problem that they might fix in a few minutes can often times take many hours or even days for an inexperienced person to resolve.

Q?

What makes Cetra engineers so good?

A.

Cetra doesn't assign just one or two engineers to your company. Cetra employs many engineers with a very broad spectrum of training and experience. IT for business has become so complicated no single person can do it all. Cetra matches the right engineer for the job. If it is a network problem, then a network engineer is assigned. If it is connectivity or VoIP or application or update or security or backup or web or whatever....The right engineer will be assigned to the corresponding task.

Q?

I can see how much difference using Cetra could make for my company. However, I already have an IT person. I don’t want to just let them go. Any suggestions?

A.

Absolutely! Cetra is constantly growing and as such we are always looking for new talent. Often we will interview an employee and if they are good, we may hire them and train them to become one of our staff engineers. If they are not good, maybe you should reconsider your position. If they can't become a Cetra engineer, then they may not have enough knowledge and experience to be helping you in the first place.

Q?

Why should I hire Cetra? I have someone in the company that doubles as a regular employee and she handles all the IT stuff as well.

A.

This is probably one of the biggest mistakes companies make. Just because someone can install a program or fix a few things on a computer does not make them a qualified engineer. Over and over again, we see companies take an employee and just because they are the most computer savvy in the company, they put them in charge of the company's IT. This is a problem for several reasons. Usually this person has trained in some other field and was hired to perform some other function in the company. However, IT becomes almost their full-time job and they are not able to perform their regular job satisfactorily. Now a company has an employee that is not as productive as they could be and trying to perform in a job that they were not trained to do. It is almost always a compromise. Compare that type of situation with having a company that has various experts available as needed in an unlimited capacity. Doing that puts your employee back into a position they can focus on and your IT gets handled by a team of experts.

Q?

Compared to the telephone company, Cetra is small. Why should I purchase bandwidth from Cetra when I can go directly to the phone company?

A.

This may seem like a hard thing to argue against. However, Cetra is a reseller for the phone company as well as other carriers. Buying bandwidth from Cetra not only pulls all the responsibility to a single source, but Cetra also adds significant value-add to our circuits. We have state of the art monitoring equipment and focus on business. Only business and only business is what we support. In other words, when you have a problem, you have our full attention. We will jump on YOUR problem right away. Your problem does not end up in some ticket queue to be looked at when an engineer is available. We know that business needs it fixed right away.
